The City of Topeka Utilities Department is seeking a qualified contractor to repair a Cutler-Hammer Transformer. The services include providing diagnosis and repair of an oil leak in a transformer for the water plant to enhance the reliability of the electrical substation. The transformer has a manufacture date of 09/2000 and provides power for our 2400V substation. Cutler-Hammer Transformer; Type: MVS; Master P.L.: SM00A492; Enclosure Type: 3R; Assembly No: A01; Encl. Operating Volts 15,000 kV; BIL: 95; Section Bus 600; Momentary RMS Asym 40,000; Short Time (2Sec, Sym) 25,000; Instruction Book IL31-930; The repair to this transformer will require an evaluation of the transformer and repair of an oil leak. The contractor will identify and repair the oil leak and identify any other issues that might not be seen or known at this time. This includes: a. Contractor to run oil analysis b. Contractor provides all necessary equipment to perform this service. c. Drain oil as needed, if oil analysis determines oil needs replacing, provide bid for new oil cost. d. All oil removed not needed is to be discarded by contractors within regulation e. Equipment is 50ft from asphalt drive. f. All Lock out Tag out performed and discussed between Contractor and City. g. Provide quote for any other unknown issues found during initial inspection. h. Contractor shall propose a schedule for maintenance and verification of all equipment and that it is safe to work on. i. The contractor shall coordinate with city operations staff for isolation of transformer and be responsible for disconnecting any necessary medium voltage wiring and grounding of such wires. City operations staff will operate ALL overcurrent protection devices, knife switches, or any other electrical deenergizing devices.
