Design, build, and place a clear span bridge on wood sills over a wetland on part of the Spider Lake ATV Loop in Section 2 T37N-R10W. (see attached location map) Bridge to be 30 feet long, a minimum of 12 feet wide, and a load capacity minimum of 25,000 pounds (AASHTO H- Vehicle Loading). Bridge to be set on s 12” x 12” by 12’ treated wood sills Washburn County to remove and dispose of existing bridge and bridge materials No materials to be placed in the wetland. Bridge materials shall be self-weathering steel with self-weathering steel guardrails. Guardrails shall be a minimum of 42 inches in height above the deck. Guardrails shall have a spacing of no greater than 6 inches between rails. Guardrails shall be designed to withstand a minimum of a 200 pound load applied in any direction at any point. Minimum bridge decking standard shall be two layers of 2 inch - nominal treated southern yellow pine, providing a combined effective thickness of no less than 3 inches. The top course of decking to be placed parallel to bridge direction. Other proposed decking material may be considered at the discretion of Washburn County. Decking shall be sufficiently fastened to minimize warping. The bridge, footings, and installation shall conform to the requirements of Wisconsin DNR Publication CF-005-2017 entitled “Bridge Guidelines for New and Replacement Snowmobile and All-Terrain Vehicle Bridges”. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure that no materials are deposited into wetland areas around the bridge. Netting or other materials to prevent materials from falling are not required by Washburn County but may be placed at the discretion of the Contractor. Washburn County desires this bridge to be completed on or before November 1, 2025 There is not a navigable stream associated with this bridge and no permits should be required for bridge placement.
