Walterboro-Colleton County Airport Commission intends to construct a new aviation fuel farm, located southwest of the terminal and adjacent to the terminal apron. The project will include removal of existing concrete building foundations (1,570 SY) in the new fuel farm site, and construction of a new 60’x115’ concrete fueling apron consisting of 6” SC-501 concrete pavement with 6” SC-305 macadam base stone. The fuel farm equipment will include one (1) 20,000-gallon Jet-A fuel tank, pumping system, and associated equipment, one (1) 12,000-gallon Avgas fuel tank, pumping system, and associated equipment including a self-service credit card station for Avgas users. The design will be based on pre-packaged fuel tank systems, such as provided by Fuel-Tech Incorporated or Rebel Services, LLC, with double-walled UL2085 rated tanks and package fuel pumping systems. Also included in this project is the removal of the existing fuel farm tanks to be removed and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
