This contract is for maintenance repairs of Freeway Signing, Types I-V, and all associated post types on the MDOT freeway system within Wayne County. The contractor shall bid on a standardized list of pay items that are common to permanent signs and sign posts installations and repairs. Certain pay items have been modified as described in work descriptions below for the various sign repairs. Specific project locations will not be known at the time of letting and repair locations will be spread sporadically across the jurisdiction area. Specific repair locations may consist of a single repair or multiple repairs per traffic control deployment. Locations requiring repair will be logged in ArcGIS by MDOT. The Contractor will be required to use ArcGIS Software to document repairs. Submitted Work Orders (logged locations in Arc GIS) will need to be completed within 30 calendar days or as directed by the Engineer or his/her designee. Once work has commenced at a given location the contractor must continue operations at that location until the work is completed. This project will not include bridge connections, cantilevers or trusses. All traffic control required to perform logged sign repairs are to be included in the cost of the pay items for that repair. The use of a Truck Mounted Attenuator is strongly encouraged to shadow the field crews for all repairs. The use of a TMA is not paid for separately and is included in the pay item costs for each repair. The use of a Mobile attenuator while personnel are elevated in a lift/bucket truck is required as part of this contract and it cost is to be included in the cost of the pay items placed for any given Work Order. Night work is not anticipated for this project. However, should the Contractor wish to perform nighttime operations, with the prior approval of the Engineer, all costs for lighting shall be included in the cost of the concrete barrier wall items placed. The schedule for each repair shall be preapproved by the Engineer.
