1) Excavation & site preparation of three (3) fire department aprons. Grove St front apron, Park Avenue front apron, West Boylston St. front and rear aprons. 2) Compacted subgrade: The subgrade should be properly prepared and compacted to ensure a stable base. A soil compaction rate of 95% of maximum dry density. 3) Depending on soil conditions, stabilization with lime or cement may be necessary. Aggregate base course (ABC): A minimum of 6 to 12 inches of crushed stone or gravel base is required. The base material should meet state or local specifications for a durable and compactable surface. 4) Compaction: Base material shall also be compacted to 95% of the maximum dry density. 5) Asphalt must be reinforced and laid 3 to 4 inches of asphalt binder course, 1.5 to 2 inches of asphalt surface course, 12 to 18 inches of aggregate base to support the asphalt
