Weight Room Expansion and Training Enhancements: (1) The current weight room, at approximately 6,300 SF, is undersized relative to the growing demands of UNT’s athletic programs. The expansion will create a new 16,000 SF strength and conditioning facility adjacent to the existing weight room, providing significantly increased capacity and state-of-the-art training resources. (2) Key Features of the Expanded Strength and Conditioning Space: (a) 50+ yard plyometric turf area to accommodate sprint training, agility drills, and functional movement exercises. (b) 16 high-performance, dual-sided combo racks, allowing for increased athlete capacity during peak training sessions. (c) 4,000 SF of open training space for dynamic movement, injury prevention exercises, and flexibility training. (d) 1,000 SF cardio mezzanine, providing a dedicated area for cardiovascular training overlooking the main weight room. (e) 1,250 SF nutrition center, integrated into the strength and conditioning space to support athlete fueling and recovery strategies.
