Service suppliers are expected to be acquainted with the proper procedures for the complete vent hood cleaning process; however, the following list is a basic guide that San Angelo ISD judges as essential elements of a successful service program at its kitchen sites: • Crew outfitted with all protective clothing and gear required for the service. • Protective covering applied in all areas of the kitchen prior to the cleaning process. • Contractor-supplied receptacles for all drained liquids and debris. • Pull hood filters, spray with degreaser and steam clean with power washer. • Hand clean hood from the interior of the kitchen. • Detail polish all stainless steel of the vent hood. • Inside ducts cleaned on any Class II condensate (steamer) hoods. • Scrape and clean to bare metal surface fans on the roof, exterior of motor and ducts. • Thoroughly clean all housing, curbs, electrical conduit, connection/disconnection boxes. • Remove air vents and clean components. • Lubricate exhaust fan motors and bearings; check belts for wear and confirm that all fans are operational. • Report all failures to San Angelo ISD Child Nutrition Department at 325-659-3615. • Upon completion of tasks, pickup all supplies, coverings, tools, and mop floor surfaces leaving kitchens as clean or cleaner than upon entry. • Apply dated tag of certification on each cleaned unit that will be visible to fire inspector post-cleaning...
