Some examples of the types of work expected include but are not limited to: • Assessment and design of temporary repair in an emergency situation such as the failure of marble cladding on a facade. • Architectural access accommodation for a new student or someone on campus who has become disabled. • Design of modifications necessary to accommodate a new piece of laboratory equipment. • An expeditious schematic design and presentation drawings for presentation to a potential donor. • The design and documentation of small renovations for in-house construction. • Investigating the nature and challenges or severity of the issues to be addressed under the task order. • Documenting existing conditions. • Recommending detailed repairs and magnitude of cost for such repairs, including energy costs, sustainability principles, expected remaining useful life of building systems and related life cycle costs. • Proposing alternate methods of repairs for resolution of the problem, including energy efficient alternatives, and climate resiliency options that would address Executive Order 594. • Developing the preferred solution through schematic design and/or design development. • Preparing construction specifications and documents, cost estimates, and providing construction administration services.
