Kentwood Public Schools (KPS) has 26 buildings within the District including schools, administrative oces, sports arenas, and facilities buildings. Of these, 24 are equipped with monitored fire alarm systems featuring a variety of components and communication technologies. Currently, the District works with multiple contractors due to the variety of products installed and vendor agreements working throughout the District in different capacities. Inconsistency in past vendor and product selections has led to significant challenges, including confusion and ineciencies. Furthermore, many of the existing systems rely on outdated technology. KPS is committed to transitioning to modern, supported technology for its life safety systems in the coming years. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to select one partner to oversee the monitoring, testing and servicing of existing fire alarm systems, effective 7/1/2025. This partner will also manage future system upgrades and replacements standardizing the District’s fire alarm technology. By consolidating to one partner and one standardized product, KPS aims to simplify operations, foster a stronger partnership, and realize cost eciencies through streamlined services. As part of your proposal, please describe your client onboarding process at the beginning of this partnership.
