The City of Topeka is soliciting for bids related to the rental of equipment required for wastewater treatment Waste Activated Sludge (WAS) thickening 576,000 gallons per day or 400 gallons per minute. A. Rental equipment must: 1. Provide for a TWAS between four and six percent (4%-6%); 2. Minimum thickening rate of 288,000 GPD to reduce current solids loading or above; 3. Unit will be set on a stabilized gravel pad and be exposed to the elements. 4. Be installed by rental company and City staff will operate. B. Bidders must provide a quote that includes any additional supplies, including but not limited to: 1. Polymer feed unit/storage; 2. Flock tube; 3. Thickened pump with ability to pump thickened material into the top of 25 ft tank; 4. Air compressor; 5. Recycle pump; 6. Exceptions for any support/training or additional chemicals; 7. Delivery/Setup, teardown and return shipping should be itemized separately; C. Sludge supply and to return the effluent through the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the City will provide: 1. WAS force main connection. An eight (8) inch Flanged Connection currently reduced to a six (6) inch Male Camlock; 2. Manhole for effluent return; 3. 480-volt power; 4. All connections will be within sixty (60) feet of the rental unit.
