Hennepin County is requesting the services of an engineering consultant to determine the extent and locations of the delamination areas throughout the bridge deck. Testing will be done twice, once as soon as possible in 2025 and subsequent testing in 2026 to again verify delaminated areas. Testing performed by the consultant can be done by any NDT they have expertise with. Prior experience testing and locating bridge deck delamination is required on previous public agency deck assessment projects to locate bridge deck delamination. Hennepin County will select a firm that proposed the most efficient and effective NDT method through this RFP. Anticipated NDT methods include, but are not limited to, infrared thermography, hammer sounding, impact echo or ground-penetrating radar. The consultant shall provide a detailed report for each NDT test performed in 2025 and 2026, which may include Bentley OpenRoads compatible drawings and maps.
