Contractor shall provide FORTIFIED LOWFAT HOMOGENIZED MILK - MINIMUM BUTTER FAT - 1%: It shall be fortified with Vitamin A, 2000 I.U. per quart and Vitamin D, 4000 I.U. per quart and 1% solids, not fat, added for good body. Product Standards: All fluid products must be maintained at a temperature between 32 degrees and 40 degrees Fahrenheit when transported and delivered to the schools. Package Standards: The products shall be packaged in containers. If a paper carton is defective in any manner, or the milk is sour or contains foreign matter, a replacement shall be made for each such carton without charge to the NBOE District. The replacement of these paper cartons is to be made on the day of the incident. The contractor shall supply wrapped biodegradable straws of suitable length six inches (6”) to all school cafeterias served and to all mid-morning milk programs served. The contractor shall refrigerate milk and milk products so as to maintain the temperature of such products below 40 degrees Fahrenheit at all times while in transit to the point of delivery.
