SPECIFICATIONS FOR 1-A LOW ABRASION NON-WAPPINGER LIMESTONE GENERAL: Low Abrasion Non-Wappinger Crushed Limestone shall consist of clean, washed, durable, and sharp angled fragments of rock of uniform quality produced by crushing LEDGE ROCK from natural consolidated mineral deposits. Said source of material shall have been previously tested and found acceptable under the latest edition of the New York State Department of Transportation "Standard Specifications Construction and Materials" previously referenced, Section 703-02 Coarse Aggregate. Proof of conformance and testing results, from a certified testing agency, must be furnished with a return bid. DETAILED: Materials to be provided shall consist of crushed rock of uniform quality which shall have been previously tested and found acceptable under the Crushed Stone requirements of Section 703-02, Coarse Aggregate, of the New York State Department of Transportation "Standard Specifications Construction and Materials". All requirements pertaining to said crushed limestone specifications shall be met with the exception of the following: The maximum percent loss by weight at I0 cycles for the Magnesium Sulfate Soundness Test (NYS DOT 207) shall be 12%: and The maximum percent loss by weight (Grading A or B) for the Los Angeles Abrasion Test (AASHTO T96) shall be 25%. The size designated shall conform to the gradation listed in Table 703-4 of the "Standard Specifications". QUANTITY: The winner of bid must be willing to supply stone to the Town of Fallsburg with no minimum or maximum amount for the year.
