The Redevelop Bayou La Batre City Docks project is an economic development project for the City of Bayou La Batre, Alabama. The project’s design meets a multitude of uses for the community including facilitating seafood sales from boat to public, creation of a venue for open-air markets and event, construction of a full-service marina building with leasable floating docks, and construction of a multi-lane boat launch with supporting parking, roadways and utility infrastructure that supports all developed areas of the site. Marketplace: - Two (2) 4,500 SF slab on grade open-air pavilion buildings. - Two (2) 20’0” x 8’-0” (approximate) portable restroom trailer “Comfort” stations. Marina: - One (1) 6,108 SF elevated timber pile supported marina multi-use building. - One (1) utility floating dock with fuel dispensing, wet and dry utility systems with connections including potable water, sewer pump out, fire suppression, associated electrical equipment, and accessories. - One (1) main dock and five (5) side (“Tree”) docks with east and west gangway access from fixed platforms, potable water, fire suppression, and associated electrical equipment and accessories. Boat Launch: - Four (4) lane cast-in-place concrete boat launch ("Ramp") with courtesy docks with associated electrical equipment, gangways and abutments, concrete ramp approach (“Turning”) apron, ramp scour toe protection and rock revetment shoreline protection. General Marine Work: - Demolition of existing concrete deck and piles, timber pile structures, pile clusters, - Installation of 290 LF of steel sheet pile bulkhead with concrete cap and fascia and anchorage system. - one (1) fixed timber pier with gangways, platforms and accessories for Shrimp Boat direct seafood sales to public. - Installation of shoreline Rock Revetment Riprap General Site Work: - Demolition of various structures or portions of structures to accommodate new construction. Subsurface pipe including but not limited to sanitary, water, storm, electric, and irrigation. -Construction of aggregate (“Gravel”) parking, concrete and bituminous pavement for roadways and parking, associated concrete sidewalks and curbs, landscaping and other site amenities such as signage and benches.
