The attached Bid Specifications are submitted to solicit bids from qualified vendors for the supply and application of approximately 40,000 square yards of Chip Seal for the City of Powell Streets Department. The Chip Seal shall consist of a mixture of CHFRS-2P emulsified asphalt and aggregate conforming to Sections 10 & 11, “Chip Seal Specifications” and “ Aggregate Specifications”. The mixture shall be proportioned, mixed and spread evenly on a prepared surface in accordance with these specifications or as directed by the Project Manager. The Chip Seal shall be rolled thoroughly using proper roller techniques to align the chips and set the chips completely. The completed Chip Seal shall leave a mat, adhered firmly to the prepared surface, and have a friction resistant surface texture throughout its service life. The equipment, tools, and machines needed in the performance of the work shall be provided by the Contractor and shall be maintained in a satisfactory working condition at all times.
