Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) is an integrated wound management system. The use of the wound vacuum pump is to remove infectious materials and drainage from the wound bed. The medical device system creates an environment that promotes wound healing by delivering negative pressure (a vacuum) to the wound through a proprietary dressing and therapy unit. Usage and the length of time a patient needs a wound vacuum pump may vary depending on patient needs and physician’s orders (the typical length of time used is 30-90 days) Rental of wound care vac will include drop off and pickup. Replacement unit sent within 24 hours if a problem or malfunction occurs.
