Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) is an integrated wound management system. The use of the wound vacuum pump is to remove infectious materials and drainage from the wound bed. The medical device system creates an environment that promotes wound healing by delivering negative pressure (a vacuum) to the wound through a proprietary dressing and therapy unit. The advanced wound therapy system consists of five parts: 1. Vac Therapy Unit -Delivers negative pressure 2. A disposable canister- Collects wound fluids and infectious materials 3. Sterile plastic tubing w/ technology that allows the therapy unit to sense the amount of negative pressure delivered to the wound 4. Special foam dressings- Placed in the wound 5. Clear adhesive drape-Covers the foam dressing 3M V.A.C Ulta Therapy Model: ULTDEV01/US.P & ActiV.A.C Therapy Unit Model: 340000.P with Sensa T.R.A.C Technology or equal Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Vac Specifications: Sense pressure changes at the wound site.
