The wooden play structures at Kids Play Park were built by the community in 1997. After many years of maintenance and repairs, the play structures have reached the end of their useful life and the City has decided to completely replace them. A budget for the project was approved by City Council in the Fiscal Year 2024-2025. The scope of this RFP is for the design of the play structures only, and includes playground design, community engagement, fundraising assistance, and construction assistance. The City is separately seeking proposals for site design work related to this playground design project. It is the intent that the Playground Design Consultant and the Site Design Consultant will coordinate their respective work together as required. The Site Design Consultant will be responsible for surrounding concrete paving design (removing and replacing existing), replacing subsurface drainage system under play structure, and other site-related items.
