The selected Consultant may be requested to perform the types of services listed below. When requested to perform work, CCWD and Consultant will develop a scope of work, cost estimate, and schedule prior to CCWD authorizing a Notice-to-Proceed (NTP). Depending on the project’s needs, the Consultant may be requested to provide geotechnical and hydrological services at various stages of design and construction. All geotechnical work performed shall be under the supervision of a registered Geotechnical Engineer (GE) and/or a Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG). Field Investigation Consultant shall provide all necessary equipment and devices to perform the required geotechnical exploration, which may include the following tasks: o Developing field exploration plans o Performing visual inspections o Obtaining permits and notifying Underground Service Alert (USA) prior to drilling o Excavating test pits o Drilling boreholes o Logging of soil borings o Installing inclinometers and collecting readings o Collecting soil samples for visual classification o Laboratory testing of soil samples for moisture content, dry density, Atterberg limits, gradation, etc. Geotechnical Analysis Consultant may be requested to provide all the necessary geotechnical data to assist CCWD in making engineering decisions. Consultant’s geotechnical analysis and cost estimates may be used by CCWD for project planning and budgeting purposes. Geotechnical analysis may include: o Developing repair alternatives and recommendation o Developing opinion of probable construction costs o Reviewing existing geotechnical data and background information o Developing conceptual design or layout to support the geotechnical recommendation Geotechnical Engineering Design Assistance Consultant may be requested to directly participate in a design project led by CCWD. Services may include: o Providing design consultation o Preparation of design plans and specifications o Reviewing CCWD’s design plans and specifications o Providing recommendations for a new facility construction (e.g., construction of a new pad or a retaining wall) or site restoration (e.g., road or concrete repair) o Providing geotechnical construction observation and testing during construction Hydrological Services Consultant may be requested to assist CCWD with review or preparation of hydrologic analysis, such as stormwater drainage studies and hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, modeling, and design. Services may include: o Reviewing and commenting on hydrologic analyses prepared for land developments that have potential to impact CCWD or United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) property and facilities o Preparing hydrologic analysis for drainage basins within CCWD or USBR property (including the Los Vaqueros Watershed) or for drainage basins that have potential to impact CCWD or USBR property and facilities o Providing recommendations for drainage system improvements o Preparing final design of drainage system improvements
