1. Counseling/Skill Building Services for juveniles: * a. This program will be designed to assist juveniles in avoiding further involvement/subsequent referrals to the Juvenile Office. The program will educate juveniles regarding anxiety and how it affects them, as well as elevate the participating juveniles’ self-esteem. b. The philosophy of the program shall be based on the belief that if a juvenile is informed in a positive manner on topics relevant to their lives, the juvenile will be able to better understand the consequences of his/her actions and make more appropriate decisions going forward. c. This program is to be designed for juveniles, both male and female, up to eighteen (18) years old. d. This program is anticipated to last four (4) to six (6) sessions, with possibly one (1) or more session(s) per week as determined by need over the course of the year. 2. Counseling/Skill Building Services for juveniles referred for assault – related offenses: * a. This program will be designed to educate juveniles regarding the skills necessary to handle conflicts and disagreements in a responsible manner and without losing control and/or resorting to violence. b. The juvenile will learn to resolve disagreements with others while managing the juvenile’s anger. c. This program is to be designed for juveniles, male and female, up to eighteen (18) years old. d. This program is anticipated to last eight (8) sessions, with possibly one (1) or more session(s) per week as determined by need over the course of the year. 3. Counseling/Skill Building Services for juveniles referred for assault – related offenses and the victim is a parent/guardian/custodian: a. This program will offer individual, family and group counseling services for juveniles, as well as the families of the juveniles, that are referred to the Juvenile Office for offenses involving allegations of assault in which the parent/stepparent and/or legal guardian/custodian is the victim of the juvenile’s assaultive behavior. b. This program will educate juveniles regarding the skills necessary to handle conflicts and disagreements in a responsible manner and without losing control and/or resorting to violence. c. This program is to be designed for juveniles, male and female, up to eighteen (18) years old, and requires parent/guardian participation. d. This program is anticipated to last ten (10) sessions, with one or more session(s) per week as determined by need over the course of the year.
