GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS: INSPECTION: Work performed and all Goods furnished are subject to inspection and testing by the Contract Administrator, or their designee, to determine if they conform to contractual requirements. Final acceptance will be given by the Contract Administrator upon satisfactory completion of work. TRAFFIC CONTROL: Contractor shall submit to City of Salem Traffic Engineering a proposed Traffic Control Plan (TCP). Contractor shall not begin work on any stage of construction until the TCP has been reviewed and accepted and all Traffic Control Measures are in place and the TCP is operating satisfactorily. A stop work may be issued by Traffic Engineering or the Contract Administrator for failure to adhere to the TCP. Traffic Control costs are to be included in the bid rate, no additional traffic control fee’s will be allowed or incurred by the City. IDENTIFICATION: Contractor’s crews shall be identified at all times by a Company uniform, or safety vest with Company name clearly displayed. Company vehicles will have a Company sign clearly displayed. WORK ORDER: A “Work Order” is the document submitted to the Contractor by the City of Salem to order Goods and Services under the Price Agreement. The City of Salem will issue Work Orders annually that may include any of the Goods and Services listed in the Proposal. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: All asphaltic concrete repairs shall utilize ½” Dense Grade Level II Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete (HMAC) unless otherwise directed by the Contract Administrator or their designated representative. A roadway trench repair will have a minimum compacted depth of newly installed HMAC of 4” or the depth of the existing asphalt, whichever is greater. The contractor shall sand seal all joints between new AC pavement and existing pavement with hot oil and sand. The contractor shall adjust all structures within the project area to final grade. Any manhole or catch basin risers required to achieve final grade will be provided by the City of Salem. Nighttime work is defined as work taking place between the hours of 2000 and 0500. Weekend work is defined as work falling on a Saturday or Sunday.
