For the purpose of this Request, DAS is seeking an exemption of electrical equipment purchased for all Public Improvement or Public Works projects under DAS Procurement Authority in the next five years. • To source compliant products/components/materials under OAR 125-249-070(1)(b)(B)(ii) would result in product cost increases and significant delays to the project due to redesign, testing of new materials, material sourcing, manufacturing process changes as well as other hidden costs, according to the manufacturer. • Types of electrical equipment required for DAS properties must meet the standards and specifications in the plan and specifications of Public Improvement and Public Works projects, and these products undergo extensive testing to meet the standards required in the plans and specifications. The following standards are required, but not limited for the products compatible with the projects: o Underwriters Laboratories (UL); o National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards; o National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 70;
