The City is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to offer a smart grid solution in new developments and existing areas of the city with poor read rate coverage. Vendors may offer either traditional and/or cellular AMI infrastructure, field area network (FAN) and metering data management (MDM) capabilities. The MDM will receive the reads and provide integration services with the City head-end system (HES). An appropriate AMI FAN solution consists of a system capable of delivering register and interval reads as well as alarms and events from 100% of water customer meters, including: AMI daily readings at a 98.5% read rate, product delivery, high performance customer support, quality products, network infrastructure and installation.
