Knox County, an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, seeks to retain a qualified geotechnical engineering consulting and construction testing firm(s) for the purpose of providing Construction Testing Services including but not limited to Special Inspections, Construction Observations, and Materials Testing Services for various construction projects under the purview of Knox County and Knox County Schools. The professional engineering and testing firm shall provide all Special Inspections Testing and all Construction Observations and Materials Testing for the entire project. Special Inspections include all testing required by the International Building Code and as specified in the Contract Documents for the specific project. Construction Observations and Materials Testing includes all other testing indicated in the Contract Documents for the specific project including but not limited to concrete testing, structural steel construction, masonry construction, proof-rolling for pavements and observation of earthwork and backfill operations. All Special Inspections and all Construction Observations and Materials Testing shall be performed in accordance with the International Building Code (IBC), the Contract Documents, as well as all other applicable Codes and Standards. The amount of periodic and continuous testing will be determined based on the specific project schedule and specification requirements.
