The City of Berkeley ("City") is soliciting written proposals from qualified companies to provide tire replacement and repair services to meet the needs of the City's Public Works Equipment Maintenance Division (“Fleet”) on behalf of multiple City Departments. Selected service providers must deliver services in a prompt and courteous manner. Tire Supply: The Contractor shall supply new, first-quality tires that meet or exceed the specifications outlined below. There are currently over 550 active vehicles in the City fleet that are categorized a rolling stock. These vehicles includes specialized vehicles such as fire apparatus, trailers, and police patrol. i. Tire Types: Passenger, light, medium and heavy-duty truck, off-road, and specialized emergency response tires including pursuit-rated police tires. ii. Quality Standards: No retreaded, re-grooved, or used tires will be accepted. iii. All tires must meet or exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. iv. Load & Speed Ratings: All tires must meet or exceed the required size, load, speed, tread wear, traction, and temperature ratings.
