1. Signs shall be Type XI on 80-gauge aluminum. All signing materials shall be in accordance with the current NDDOT design standards and specifications, unless otherwise noted. 2. All signs must meet all MUTCD design specifications, including retroreflectivity standards. 3. All signs must have a 10-year guarantee. 4. Signs shall be punched according to NDDOT standard punch assembly detail. 5. The radar detection unit shall be either a Carmanah SpeedCheck-15, Traffic Control Corporation SafePace Evolution 15, or approved equal with universal mounts. 6. The radar detection unit should have Bluetooth communication capabilities. 7. The radar detection unit shall be solar powered with 50W solar panel. 8. If bidders for Item 1, Sign # S5-1a, are proposing a sign consisting of three (3) separate sign plates, the top “SCHOOL” sign is 9 inches in height and the bottom “WHEN CHILDREN ARE PRESENT” sign is 12 inches in height according to MUTCD Standard for Highway Signs. Both signs are 24 inches wide according to MUTCD Standard for Highway Signs. Bidders may propose a solid one-piece sign for Item 1, Sign # S5- 1a, that is 24 inches wide x 48 inches in height and meeting the MUTCD Standard for Highway Signs.
