The scope of work shall include the inspection and servicing, repair, installation and replacement as needed of manually operated contra flow gate arms and structures found east bound west bound along the 166.8 mile long Interstate Highway I-16, also known as Jim Gillis Historic Savannah Parkway, and State Route 404, for its entire length, which is located entirely within the state of Georgia and connects downtown Macon to downtown Savannah. I-16 travels through Bibb, Twiggs, Bleckley, Laurens, Treutlen, Emanuel, Candler, Bullock, Bryan, Effingham and Chatham counties. Repairs shall be performed as needed during inspection or upon request by the Department. At all times, have on the work site as the Successful Contractor's agent, a competent, English speaking Supervisor, thoroughly experienced in the type of work being performed. The Supervisor’s main duties are to supervise the maintenance crew. The Successful Contractor’s Supervisor will: 1. Have a working cell phone with them and be available 24/7; 2. Be available at the work site when the Work is being performed under this contract; 3. Act as the Successful Contractor’s authorized agent in all communications with the Department; and 4. Be responsible for inspecting and reporting the need for major repairs to the GDOT Engineer immediately.
