• Removal and disposal of all elevator components, including but not limited to the cab/car, rails, counterweights, controller, fixtures, cables, buffer channels, machine and other hoistway equipment. o One exception: The Oak machine, located in the attic, will remain. Removal of this machine is unnecessary and has been determined to be cost prohibitive. • Removal and disposal of wiring leading from the controller to the disconnect. • Collect and properly dispose of all hydraulic oil or other materials/chemicals, utilizing a licensed professional recycling company. • Removal and disposal of gates. Retain existing hoistway doors in working order to be utilized with future material lift. Existing hoistway doors are to be bolted shut from the inside, as required by the State, to prevent anyone from accidentally accessing the empty hoistway. • Machine Room Restoration: o Remove any elevator-associated trip hazards and protrusions of ¼” or more from the floor and ½” or more from walls. o Remove/clean oil from the Machine Room floor to provide a clean, slip-resistant concrete floor.
