Supply quality meals using the approved menu that meets the Dietary guidelines for Americans published by the Secretary of Agriculture, and provides 33 1/3 % of the current Dietary Reference Intakes for adults (DRI) Meals served comply with all federal, state and local health ordinances and nutrition program standards for food handling, processing, temperatures and food safety. (refer to nutrition standards) Meals are to be sent to site in hot pre-sealed containers for congregate meals and home delivered meals. Shelf staple meals are to be sent to site either boxed or bagged. Frozen meals are to be sent to site in either 2-pack, 5-pack, or 7-pack boxes.
