LINE #1 FOR NURSES: ECMO SPECIALIST TRAINING Number of Nurses: 15 DIDACTIC: (Online and In Person Training Requirements) ECMO Specialist Training must include a minimum total of ten (10) hours of training with a minimum of two (2) hours being online courses and a minimum of eight (8) hours being live in person trainings at the HUCLA training facility listed below. Vendor will need to schedule in-person training and provide the link to the online courses at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of any trainings to HUCLA’s project manager. The training curriculum must include, at a minimum, the following ELSO didactic topics: ECMO machine overview Advantages and disadvantages of the different cannulation techniques, Indication of ECMO, Preparation for ECMO support (machine and patient) Medication requirements for ECMO including anticoagulation Care of the ECMO patient Weaning ECMO Assisting with decannulation Post ECMO care. The vendor must provide their own simulation equipment, devices, and supplies during all Didactic trainings at no additional cost to HUCLA. LINE #2 FOR NURSES: CLINICAL PRACTICUM: BEDSIDE PROCTORING (In Person Training Requirements) Number of Nurses: 15 Number of Sessions: 2 sessions per nurse Vendors must provide two (2) session per nurse of Clinical Practicum: Bedside Proctoring at the Vendor’s training facility. Each session must be a minimum of twelve (12) hours. Vendor’s training facility must include a live in-person clinical setting where HUCLA nurses will care for real life patients to enhance the clinical skills of nurses on.
