Per Health and Safety Code Sections 41856-41859, Division 26, Subchapter 2, the meteorological data provided through this contract is required by the Smoke Management Guidelines for Agricultural and Prescribed Burning, to assist the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Duty Meteorologist in formulating decisions made daily in support of the State’s Agricultural Burning Program. The Contractor shall make daily flights and record air temperature readings at 500-foot intervals, including surface, to an elevation of 5,000 feet above the ground. Flights shall also include the collection of ozone data to an altitude of 7,500 feet above the ground. This shall be completed seven (7) days a week for the duration of the agreement with the exception of months March, April and May of each year where it is only required for five (5) days a week.
