Software Asset Management (SAM) Solution: Inventory: Repository to store current and historical data related to District owned assets; provide a single source of truth for software asset management (SAM) relevant data Normalization: Ability to normalize and standardize discovery information using vendor provided and regularly updated license metrics Reconciliation and Optimization: Reconcile discovery information against entitlement data in the repository Optimize usage of and spending on software Assets Data exchange and reporting: Provide clean, accurate, industry best practices to normalize and categorize inventory of IT Software Assets Ability to consume data from other relevant systems including District’s existing discovery systems (BMC Discovery) and export data in a variety of formats B. Software Discovery Solution: Discovery Ability to communicate with network attached devices (mainly office use desktops and laptops) to obtain hardware, software license, user, and network configuration information Capability to be used for Data Center systems to increase the breadth and depth of our current discovery data Data exchange and reporting: Ability to integrate with other relevant systems (including SAM system) and export data in a variety of formats
