The Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is establishing a Joint Purchase Master Contract (JPMC) for secure document shredding, destruction, and disposal by recycling (as applicable). Vendor will provide supplies and services necessary to help meet the statutory responsibilities of governmental units. Governmental units accumulate confidential, privileged, private, and other protected documents that cannot be discarded in the day-to-day regular waste or recycling collection areas. These documents must be shredded to ensure that materials containing confidential information are promptly and securely disposed. This JPMC may be used by governmental units as defined in Section 5 of this contract. SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES REQUIRED: Materials to be shredded contain information that is confidential, and disclosure of such information is prohibited. Chain of Custody (CoC)/Possession of materials to be shredded and shredded material must be safeguarded until materials reach the stage where they are rendered unreadable and legally indecipherable. CoC protocol must be upheld as standard operational practice and applied to all services provided under this contract. Materials to be shredded must follow protocol including but not limited to: Federal Tax Information (FTI): FTI documents and any paper material generated from it, such as copies, photo impressions, computer printouts, notes, and work papers, must be destroyed by either shredding or burning.
