The Illinois State Police (ISP) is seeking a vendor to provide a tactical canine for our Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) officers. Vendor must be within 650 miles of Springfield, Illinois, or must be willing to bring the canine to the IL State Police at no cost to the Department. Age:1 to 3 years old. Breed: Belgium Malinois or Dutch Shephard. Tactical Canine Candidates: Shall be Polizei Schutzhund Prufung trained; Shall have a workability guarantee for life of canine; Shall be trained to detect all explosive odors including TATP and HMTD; Shall remain quiet when approaching an area for a search or apprehension; Shall complete directed and non-directed tactical searches; Shall work in confined space and limited access insertion and extraction to search for subjects; Shall recall during tactical search; Shall recall off a bite or an indication from a tone with an e-collar or a non- verbal signal; Shall work reliable with an e collar; Shall auditory alert upon locating an inaccessible suspect
