The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Airport Division will require the replacement of the existing 8-inch-diameter sewer lateral at Building 225 Air Commuter Terminal. The existing 8-inch sewer lateral is located along the south corner of the building. The following are the principal items of work to be performed: 1. Expose the existing sewer service lateral between the Commuter Terminal and sewer main.to diagnose the extent of the pipeline failure. 2. Install new 8-inch sewer lateral per plans and specs. 3. Schedule sewer service shut off with Airport Manager. Building sewer service will not be shut off without Airport Manager’s approval or designated representative. 4. Tie-in connection to new service lateral shall be completed within one night. 5. Contractor will avoid damaging existing trees and buried utilities. 6. Contractor will post advance notice at each restroom door, a minimum of one week before approved temporary shutdown date. 7. Vehicle traffic control within roadway and parking lot will be provided and coordinated with Airport Manager/designated representative. 8. Temporary sewer bypass is allowed at contractor’s expense and approval of Airport Manager/designated representative.
