The City of Clinton, Iowa is seeking a railroad operator for the operation of a railroad spur and 3rd party switching services at the Lincolnway Industrial Rail and Air Park, Clinton, Iowa. The Lincolnway Industrial Rail & Air Park is a developing Rail Park on the west side of Clinton, located just south of U.S. Highway 30 and the Clinton Municipal Airport. Industries in the park are serviced by the Union Pacific Railroad under an Industry Track Agreement. The Union Pacific Railroad mainline runs just south of the park, with a dedicated spur running into the park. The City invites proposals from experienced railroad operators capable of providing the 3rd party switching services required for the operation of the City’s rail facilities between various industries and the UPRR. The intent of this RFQ is to identify and ultimately engage an operator that is deemed most qualified in providing such services as a contractor of the city.
