SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor is required to begin work within 5 business days of notification received by the Project Manager. The Contractor shall supply sufficient hauling trucks and trailers so that the stockpiled dewatered solids residuals can be hauled and disposed of within 5 business days of commencing hauling operations. The Contractor shall be responsible for supplying a front-end loader capable of moving stockpiled material to transport trucks in a reasonable expedient, efficient and safe manner. The Contractor shall be responsible for loading their own trucks and trailers with the solids residuals. The Contractor will be responsible for any citations issued to the Contractor for overloaded trailers and bear the cost of such citations if they should occur. Any spillage of residual solids caused by Contractor shall be promptly cleaned up by Contractor at its own expense. The District specifically reserves the right to cease dewatering and stockpiling operations at any time, for any reason and for any length of time if it so chooses. Prior to leaving the plant grounds, each trailer shall be inspected by the Contractor’s personnel for signs of external leakage. If any leakage is apparent, the trailer is not to leave the plant premises. It will be placed in a holding area specified by the plant operators or Project Manager for 48 hours. If the trailer is still leaking after 48 hours it will be repaired on site by the Contractor or the trailer contents will be transferred to a non-leaking trailer by the Contractor and both trailers will then be removed from the plant at no additional cost to the District. Each trailer leaving the plant shall be recorded on the log kept at the Operations Control Building and acknowledged by both the driver and a designated plant operator or Project Manager. In addition, a District manifest will be completed by the driver and signed off by the designated plant operator. The District will allow access to a reasonable amount of water at no charge for the purposes of washing down Contractor’s equipment, cleaning spills and other related work.
