1.1 SCOPE 1.1.1 The City of Austin Electric Utility Department is hereafter referred to as Austin Energy . This specification establishes the minimum requirements for the operating characteristics and safety features of an Electro-Mechanical Motor Operator. Hydraulic type motor operators are not acceptable under this specification. 1.1.2 The manufacturer shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the production of Electro-Mechanical Motor Operators forthe United States electric utility market. 1.1.3 The Electro-Mechanical Motor Operator offered under this specification shall have been in commercial service in an electric utility in the United States for a minimum of five (5) years in the configuration being offered. 1.1.4 To provide evidence that the requirements of paragraphs 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 are met, the manufacturer shall, upon request, provide a list of installations where an Electromechanical Motor Operator, like the ones being offered, have been operational for a minimum of 5 years. The installation information shall include date of initial operation, location, owner, and contact number of owner’s representatives. 1.1.5 The device furnished under this specification shall be completely factory assembled, calibrated, adjusted, and tested upon delivery
