The City of Folsom is soliciting proposals from qualified traffic engineering consultants to update traffic signal timing and develop logic statements to optimize operations and mitigate the impacts of light rail preemption at all signals along Folsom Blvd from Iron Point Road to Natoma Street. Folsom Blvd is a key arterial roadway that experiences frequent traffic disruptions due to light rail preemption at multiple signalized intersections. The City seeks to improve coordination, minimize vehicular delays, and enhance overall traffic flow while accommodating Sacramento Regional Transits light rail operations. The selected consultant will be responsible for evaluating existing signal timing, logic statements, developing updated timing plans and coordination patters, and preparing new logic statements that improve signal operations under advanced preemption conditions.
