The City of Milwaukee has been awarded a Safe Roads and Streets for All (SS4A) Demonstration Project Grant with the goal of making streets safer for Milwaukeeans walking, rolling, biking, scooting, and taking transit by testing new street design strategies and materials. The project will also focus on finding and testing key messages to build support for and understanding of safer streets and mobility, and piloting communications techniques that will improve how the City of Milwaukee engages with residents about new infrastructure and street improvement projects. This RFQ is for professional communications planning and strategy services to test new communications tools, introduce and support the implementation of existing infrastructure and Street Demonstration pilot projects, understand community priorities and key messages, and gather in-depth community feedback about the pilot projects. The selected firm or team will serve as collaborative and creative thought partners with City of Milwaukee staff, who are focused on transportation planning, active mobility education, and implementation of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and traffic calming work. The selected team will complete polling, focus groups, surveys, and in-context education and engagement regarding infrastructure projects and the SS4A Street Demonstration Projects. Please note that a separate RFQ has been issued for Street Projects Planning, Design, & Evaluation.
