3.1.1 Biological Safety Cabinets Class II A2 3.1.1.1 Biological Safety Cabinets must be a 4-foot Class II A2. Class II, type A2 Biosafety Cabinet provides personnel, product, and environmental protection through filtered air, laminar or unidirectional air, and a motor blower. The exhaust airflow of the A2 type safety cabinet is discharged back to the room after highefficiency filtration. 3.1.1.2 Biological Safety Cabinets must be National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Listed for NSF Standard Number 49. Vendor will need to provide documentation upon request. 3.1.1.3 Biological Safety Cabinets must provide personnel, product, and environmental protection from hazardous particulates such as agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 contaminants. 3.1.1.4 Class II Biosafety Cabinets must have high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA)-filtered, vertical, unidirectional airflow within the work area and have a front access opening with carefully maintained inward airflow. 3.1.1.5 Biological Safety Cabinets must include an adjustable base stand. 3.1.1.6 Biological Safety Cabinets power requirements must be North American 110V to 120V. 3.1.1.7 Biological Safety Cabinets must have a minimum 8-inch sash opening. 3.1.1.8 Biological Safety Cabinet must have maximum width 54.3 inches; maximum depth 31.2 inches; maximum height 63.4 inches. 3.1.1.9 Biological Safety Cabinets must have built in UV light, and service fixture. 3.1.1.10 Biological Safety Cabinets must be supported by the manufacturer through the availability of replacement parts. 3.1.1.11 Biological Safety Cabinets must come with minimum 1-year standard warranty covering parts and labor 3.1.1.12 Vendor must provide equipment specification documentation including make and model with bid submission.
