Specifications include, but are not limited to:. DUCTILE IRON PIPE, FITTINGS, AND SPECIAL CASTINGS General Ductile iron pipe shall be centrifugally cast in metal or sand line molds in compliance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A-21.51 and American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standards C-151. In addition, the pipe shall be “fully gauged” throughout its entire length and clearly marked as such. Ductile iron pipes and fittings shall be preapproved brands or equal to: American Cast Iron Pipe Company, Griffin, Pacific States Cast Iron Company, and United States Pipe and Foundry Company. All ductile iron pipes shall be of the class called for in the Proposal. Pipes shall be furnished in lengths of 18 feet. Class 54 or higher-classed pipe is acceptable in place of Class 53 pipe. Each length of pipe shall be individually plugged with a weather resistant cap.
