The Missoula County Print Shop offers printing services for departments within the County organization and several partner city and state organizations. To continue meeting these needs and expand the services offered, the equipment must be updated. An analysis of the Print Shop’s current capabilities regarding printing demand throughout the county has determined the following issues: 1. The equipment is aging. a. The Lease Agreement of 5 years has expired b. The two (2) printers combined have completed 5 million cycles. The current model has a life expectancy of approximately 4 million cycles or 5 years. With the increased wear and tear caused by specialized print products, such as carbonless copy paper, and larger sized cover stock, we are beginning to see increased maintenance requirements. The equipment must meet the following specifications: 1. Two (2) machines with identical capabilities, replacing the two (2) current machines. 2. 120 pages per minute (monochrome) and 100 pages per minute (color) 3. Meet a maximum annual duty cycle of at least 1,500,000 impressions (monochrome) and 150,000 impressions (color) 4. Must be capable of printing on a. Paper sizes up to 12” x 18” with an image area of 11.5” x 17.5” b. Paper thicknesses up to 320 grams per square meter c. Specialty papers including (but not limited to) coated NCR paper, pressure sensitive paper such as adhesive-backed crack-n-peel (label stock), coated stock, and double thick cover stock 5. Process large PDF, postscript, Windows and Macintosh files efficiently 6. Must auto duplex accurately and retain close front to back registration tolerances with minimal bounce on its full range of paper weights, sizes, and finishes 7. Provide consistently accurate pantone spot match, CMYK, and halftone coverage 8. Large paper capacity: Please specify the total paper amount, stock weight capacity and tray options you have with the specified machine proposed. 9. Scan to pdf, scan to computer and scan to email functions 10. Scanner/Document Feeder: Dual head scanner. Please describe your proposed scanning solution. 11. Scan/Program ahead while running – Job building 12. Please describe your standard finishing options for your proposed solution. The following finishing options are required for monochrome printing. a. Post sheet insertion (optional for color printing) b. Stapling, including corner, side and saddle-stitching (optional for color printing) 13. Reside on our Windows based network with demonstrated full compatibility with our network. Contractor will coordinate with Information Services during installation to ensure compatibility and network access.
