The base scope includes demolition of the existing hose cabinets and restoration of the wall openings, and installation of a sprinkler main through, and sprinkler heads in, each of the three main floor corridors of the 843 and 844 buildings. Additionally, the main service branch makes a connection with the fire pump main located in the 847 East building The Alternate 1 scope installs branch piping in each of the private offices and private use spaces on each floor of the 843 building. Similarly, the Alternate 2 scope installs branch piping in each of these types of spaces in the 844 building. This project will require close coordination with UI Rockford and UIC PSPM staff in order to minimize disruptions to building occupants. Most of this work will take place in non-student academic spaces, though impacts to private faculty and staff offices, and some public use areas will occur.
