To obtain competitive bids to establish a coastal/offshore charter contract to be used on an as needed basis. Vessels: • Must have a minimum fleet size of at least 1 vessel. • Primary vessel must be powered with twin outboard engines (minimum 250 hp each) • Primary outboard vessel must be 28-30’ long and seat up to 4 passengers, not including the captain • Vessel(s) must have current registration with the LA Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and equipped with U.S. Coast Guard boating requirements • Ports for vessel launch will be determined prior to charter taking place. LSU personnel will meet supplier at designated marina/launch site. Vessel launches include but are not limited to: Rigolets, Venice (Venice Marina and Cypress Cove Marina), Grand Isle, Port Fourchon, Cocodrie, Freshwater City, Cypremort Point, and Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge. • Must be able to access sites across the state from estuaries to off the continental shelf. Sites include, but are not limited to: all banks associated with the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, standing platforms and artificial reefs in both state and federal waters across the state, floating platforms off the shelf edge, Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Borgne, Barataria Bay, Lake Calcasieu, and Chandeleur Islands. • Vessels shall be equipped with fishing equipment capable of catching a range of species including electric reels.
