Specifications include, but are not limited to: To facilitate the submission and evaluation of proposals, this proposal provides additional background information regarding MPS that will be relevant to the proposal of Regionally Sourced food stuffs with a focus on: • Fresh produce items grown within the five-state area of MN, WI, IA, SD, and ND from farmers and produce aggregators with more than $1.5 million previous year gross sales. • Animal proteins raised within the five-state area, processed in accordance with all state and federal rules for school food service, and offered by small- to medium sized farms and processors. • Small to medium-sized food manufacturers based in the five-state area and entering or looking to enter the school nutrition marketplace.
