• Sustainability: o The City of Waltham was designated as a Green Community in 2017. A sustainable renovation to our Library would help us with cost-saving measures like energy efficiency, waste reduction, and lower utility bills. • Accessibility: o Review of all entrances/exits and ADA Compliance throughout the Building. o Explore possibility of two, ADA accessible public elevator access to all floors • Security/Safety: o Explore solutions frequent issues with patrons who have substance abuse disorders or mental health issues and safety is always our highest priority. Improve layout so areas all areas are visible. o Increasing sight line of all public areas. This may require shorter shelving units, more open spaces, and glass partitions (perhaps partially frosted) instead of walls. o Improved acces to small multi-use spaces by Staff with badge o Improve viewing of small enclosed study rooms and meeting spaces o Review and upgrade Security cameras should continue to be used. o Restrooms must be in staff sightlines.
