The purpose of this project is to update and expand both the Doolittle and Stonebraker boat launching facilities within the Sly Park Recreation Area to better serve the needs of the boating and angler communities by: • Increasing access for boaters and anglers with ADA accessibility requirements, • Increasing safety for boaters and anglers, • Increasing accessibility in general by decreasing wait times for launching, and • Updating public information (kiosks and signage) to provide accurate boating safety and invasive species information. The District has secured a grant through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and is seeking a qualified firm to develop a final construction plans, specifications, and cost estimate package that will leave the District with a shovel-ready project.
