The bid documents consist of work to be performed in two areas, which are organized as two separate bid packages. The entire Package 1 shall be bid as Alternates (reference Section 01030 for more information). Package 2 consists of both Base Bid items and Allowance items. Package 1 - Low Service Pump Station Area Improvements: 1. Install structural steel reinforcement between the two existing concrete beams supporting Pump No. 2 as shown on PLANS, if required. 2. Remove existing anti-vortex plates and install vortex suppression baskets on six vertical turbine pumps. 3. Replace the 11 existing wet well sluice gates as shown on PLANS. 4. Replace the existing construction office trailer on site. 5. All remaining and associated items of work contained in the Contract Documents and as shown on PLANS. Package 2 - High Service Pump Station Area: 1. Replace the existing surge tank with a bladder type surge vessel of 30,000 gallons. 2. Provide two (2) 30”/36” pipes to connect the proposed bladder type surge vessel and the HSPS discharge header. 3. Install a 30” check valve with a 12” bypass line on each of the 30”/36” connection pipe; a new valve vault will be provided. 4. Install a 10” surge anticipation valve and a new valve vault.
