A. Preference 1: Alternative Fuel Vehicles. “Alternative fuel” means liquefied petroleum gas, biodiesel, mixtures containing twenty percent (20%) or more by volume of biodiesel with diesel or other fuels, other fuels derived from biological materials, and electricity provided by off-board energy sources. The City is unable to support Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Alcohol Fuels (E85) or Hydrogen fueled vehicles. The City does not have access to CNG, E85 or Hydrogen fueling stations or infrastructure. CNG, E85 and Hydrogen fueled vehicles shall not be accepted. B. Preference 2: Hybrid Electric Vehicles (non-plug-in). A vehicle which draws propulsion energy from onboard sources of stored energy that are both an internal combustion engine or heat engine using consumable fuel, and a rechargeable energy storage system such as a battery, capacitor, hydraulic accumulator, or flywheel. C. Preference 3: Vehicles Identified as Top Performers in Their Class for Fuel Economy. Vehicles that are identified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in its annual "Fuel Economy Leaders" report as being among the top performers for fuel economy in their class. D. Preference 4: All Other Petroleum-Based Fuel Vehicles. Petroleum-based fuel vehicles that do not meet the criteria of the Preferences above.
