For each location, the pavement shall be sawcut so that the new pavement and base is supported on the edges by at least 6” of undisturbed soil. Backfill of the excavated section shall be compacted and inspected by Public Works prior to the replacement of the pavement. The pavement section used shall consist of a limerock base with a minimum thickness of 8” and an asphalt surface course with a minimum thickness of 1 ½”. If curbing must be removed to allow installation of the new culvert, it shall be replaced with new concrete curb to match existing. All new pipes shall be RCP under the pavement. Pipe diameters are to match existing. The price for this work shall include the proper disposal of all demolished materials.
